  1. Although I never expected them to be last in the league, I never understood the high expectations which were being placed on the Kings this season. Kopitar and Brown had amazing seasons last year and the chance of both of them repeating those performance were slim and none. J Quick showing signs of wear was definitely an issue as well. As I has said in another post.....when a team is under-performing the logical thing to do is 1) trade a well liked player to get the team's attention 2) change coaches. The Kings have now done both. Stay tuned.
  2. Newsflash: Many have stopped coming to games. Not too many transplants here from Tennessee. My guess is maybe 70% capacity tonight.
  3. It's not my money so I say "heck ya, let's do it." Anything is better than the current situation. But the Ducks would still be obliged to pay RC for the remainder of the season. Not so sure the Samuellis would want to go there.
  4. I stand corrected. So RC is basically making double what Bruce was making with the Ducks? SMH
  5. Whoa, wait a second. Are you telling me that RC is making 4 mil a year? I honestly have no idea what he is making but assumed it was around 2 mil. Where did you find his salary? I googled to no avail.
  6. Not a chance. He'll never get out of his contract for hosting the immortal "Between The Zambonis" hit TV show. Kes stays!
  7. I can think of 6 million reasons why the Ducks will never even think about signing Coach Q. Aim lower ciz it ain't EVER gonna happen.
  8. The Ducks have added that to the hockey repertoire as in "the Ducks play in the defensive zone is extremely loose." Thus, they are not only losing games but loosing them as well? That's the best I got.
  9. It's not very often that I would call for a coach to be released during a season because 9 times out of 10 it is a player effort issue more than an X's and O's issue. That said, it has become painfully obvious that the players are not even close to selling out for this coach any longer and you can do one of two things at this point. 1) send a message by trading a player who is popular in the room 2) release the coach and wish him luck One of the two will be happening within a week is my guess. Tough next 3 games. Well, they're all tough for this group but the next 3 are especially tough.
  10. If you were coaching Toews, Kane, Seabrook, Keith and Hossa in their prime, you'd have a ring or 2 yourself, Nieder. Just sayin.
  11. Lol good job fighting the good fight, Zman. DB is a jackass. I recall hearing him a few weeks ago saying he thought the Pacific would be The Sharks, Flames and Kings. Now, I don't mind that he left out the Ducks cuz I do not have a strong feeling on them this year, but The Kings? Isn't this the same team that got swept last year? Is Kovalchuk really going to be the piece that gets them over the top? C'mon!
  12. What do you expect from the team that rewarded Peter Budaj and Darcy Kuemper with a one way ticket out of town after filling in admirably for the oft injured Jonathon Quick. If I were Jack Campbell, I wouldn't be home shopping quite yet.
  13. Kings just fired John Stevens. Didn't they win last night? Uhhh John, if you are not too busy, there is a team down the road who could use you right about now.
  14. Further proof that ESPN does not know squat about hockey. So I just saw the ESPN power rankings and they have the Ducks listed as #11. Why? How? Okay you three, that's not necessary. edit: Okay, I see. That ranking is from Oct. 25. That could explain it....sort of. Here's a quote: "But the Ducks have let Gibson stand on his head by giving up a league-high 294 shots through eight games. That defensive irresponsibility tends to get exposed, eventually." Eventually? uhhh how about now?
  15. Watching this Chicago v Blues game. Great pace and skill on the ice. I knew this was what hockey was supposed to look like.
  16. Had something to do with the younger players isolating themselves in their hotel rooms and playing Fortnite on the road. Veteran players, like Michael Del Zotto and Bo Horvat stepped up and put an end to it, citing a lack of team bonding as the primary reason. The last I heard, Fortnite was banned on road trips. Stay tuned.
  17. Rest assured of one thing, if Dotchin does make the NHL roster and with the recent signing of Nick Ritchie, look for the other players to make a hasty exit into the locker room after games to get to the post game buffet.
  18. Maybe Dotchin ends up in beautiful San Diego?
  19. Jack Campbell appears to be the real deal. If I were J Quick, I'd be healing as quickly as possible. Then again, When Quick does come back, the Kings will probably move Campbell to another team because that's just what the Kings do.
  20. That is the plan. https://griffinstructures.com/project/great-park-ice-sports-complex/

No question about it. The kid was just not ready last year and got thrown into the lineup pretty much out of necessity. Looks like he has bulked up a bit as well. I like what I see so far.
  22. I think it is scheduled to be open late November ish.
  23. I am not sure what the schedule will be after they move to the new facility, but they usually are on the ice at around 10am.
