  1. I promised myself I wouldn't watch a second of that trash series in Dallas before it started but I saw the score towards the end and figured it was a good time to tune in and see some mustard tears. I watched maybe 2 minutes and the first thing I see is Captain Joke-e slash a Star and place a weak fly-by crosscheck into his lower back before skating away from the scrum he started and towards the refs like he did nothing. Meanwhile his stupid little garden gnome of a defence partner came in to grab the Dallas player's stick so he could toss it to the ice like he's some tough guy. I didn't see who the Dallas player was but he was just shaking his head and laughing in their faces. I have no idea how nobody has even tried putting those two morons in check yet. They're such an embarrassment they can make Doughty look like a saint on ice by comparison. I regret everything.
  2. Mitch Marner is going to get PAID. He's the Leafs' best player outside of Freddie. They should make a NHL video game GM mode trade and package Kadri and Nylander for Subban or something. Muzzin is a bum, they could do better. Side note but Toronto has the best anthem singer. That kid already has a crazy set of lungs and I don't even think she's midway through high school yet. Sky is the limit for a talent like that.
  3. I agree although I remember thinking the same thing about Washington last year once they made it past the second round after what felt like a billion tries. It looked like a Stanley Cup celebration for them once they eliminated the Penguins. They ended up walloping Tampa in the first few games of the conference finals and winning a title in impressive fashion. Considering what happened last night, maybe that 2018 series had more to do with this Bolts core thinking they can simply coast by on their potential rather than just Washington channelling the excitement from breaking new ground and riding it past a supposedly stronger opponent so who knows. Columbus shouldn't be too worried about the lack of experience though. Boston and Washington are really the only teams still out east with more of it and it's no guarantee either of them makes it to the second round.
  4. Eww I can think of 31 teams that deserve a title more than those fools and yes, the 31st team is the one in Seattle that doesn't even exist yet. I'd rather see the Cup get thrown into a black hole before any of those mustard clowns get to touch it.
  5. Timo Meier is destined to be a predaturd sometime in his career. Skilled player but I honestly hate almost everything about his game.
  6. Lmao imagine being a Tampa fan right now. Craziest upset in a sweep ever? Only one I can think of that comes close is when the Mighty Ducks stomped the Red Wings in the first round a season after that roster was anointed as the ~greatest team of all time~
  7. Freddie is still the ballsiest goalie in the league. One minute left in a one goal playoff game and this guy is making diving poke checks and trying to shoot on empty nets. I love him haha
  8. Kadri suspended for the rest of the series. Woof. Second year in a row this clown screws his team over with his nonsense. That said, I can't believe those refs (Meier & Hanson) are getting another assignment in these playoffs. That game was an absolute joke and they let it get there. Not to excuse what Kadri did but there's only so many cheapshots you can turn a blind eye to before the players begin policing themselves. Watch tonight's game in Dallas turn into a total gongshow because of those two.
  9. San Jose traded for the wrong disgruntled star player from the Senators. Stone is turning them into soup and it's beautiful.
  10. I'd pay money I don't have to watch Rod the Bod wreck Kozari's dumb face
  11. Nice work idiot I don't know why I even bother trying to understand hockey anymore. Stupid Knights.
  12. Remember when Sharks fans called the Ducks babies for trying to start scrums in a game they were getting blown out in? Funny how that works
  13. Hahaha Sharks have an extended 5 v 3 with the greasy mugs of Burns and Karlsson playing out the entire sequence and they end up killing off their own PP before allowing a sad shory As I write this it's 3-0 lmao
  14. It was only one game but I'm getting a bit of a Sharks vs. Ducks vibe from the Leafs. The Bruins couldn't handle their speed at all. It was just odd man rushes and breakaways galore once the Leafs found their legs.
  15. Colorado is such an underwhelming team. They're one of the weakest 8th seeds the west has had in a while and Calgary still doesn't look very impressive against them. I can't help but feel like the post-Carlyle Ducks could've taken these (Western Conference Regular Season Champions) Flames if they were able to sneak in. Whoever makes it out of this series is going to get swept in the second round either way.
  16. Give Seth Jones the Conn Smythe already
  17. Wow, I'm 100% all in on the Islanders. Whoever let them go back to their old rickety old Long Island barn for the playoffs is a genius. This is honestly the loudest hockey game I've ever watched and it literally just started. I got a soft spot for both Toronto (hometown team) and Pittsburgh (anyone who stops the Red Wings and Predaturds from winning titles is all good in my book) but both teams are taking a back seat for me this year.
  18. Lol stupid Kings. Always starting things they can't finish. No fine for Clifford (or Phaneuf or whatever generic no-talent plug it was) setting that whole thing off of course.
  19. The matchups have been set and it all starts Wednesday night. As much as it sucks to miss the playoffs, at least our blood pressure will get a break from the annual springtime spike. I'm tempted to say how it will be nice to appreciate playoff hockey for what it is without the stress but honestly, nah. I'd much rather be ripping my hair out watching the Ducks. Either way, who do you all have moving forward this year? (I'm going about this 100% emotionally with maybe only 5% of that being rational so bear with me): West: Calgary vs. Colorado: Avalanche in 5 San Jose vs. Vegas: Golden Knights in 5 Nashville vs. Dallas: Stars in 7 (I already deeply regret rooting for this unholy series to be a thing) Winnipeg vs. St. Louis: Jets in 5 East: Tampa Bay vs. Columbus: Blue Jack... sorry as much as I might want to, I can't say that with a straight face. They were outscored 17-3 this year. Lightning in 4. Boston vs. Toronto: Maple Leafs in 7 Washington vs. Carolina: Hurricanes in 6 New York vs. Pittsburgh: Islanders in 7 Gimme an Islanders-Avalanche Stanley Cup Final cause why the hell not?
  20. Welp, it's finally over. Just to drive home how miserable of a season this was, Getzlaf's team high 48 points was the second lowest in franchise history. The only year lower was when a rookie Kariya put up 39 in a lockout shortened half-year at the start of the dead puck era. Even the first year Mighty Duck goon squad had two guys in Yake and Corkum who'd lead these current Ducks in points. Ouch.
  21. Poor Montreal. They played their gutsiest game of the season last night and took it to Tampa only for Toronto to completely forget how to play hockey against Carolina. At least they can feel good about Boston doing their part to demolish Columbus. Must've been a weird night for Habs fans cheering for those two teams.
  22. What is good luck and where can we buy some?? Can't believe I might actually end up cheering for Dallas in the first round if they go up against Calgary. I didn't watch all of Friday's game and it was a blocked shot so I doubt it was anything aside from a freak incident but Giordano already has enough blood on his hands. Shame the Ducks Are Not Playoff Bound™ cause the Flames are waste incapable of winning in Anaheim and I'll never get tired of seeing them get eliminated.
  23. The Ducks nominated Eaves as their candidate for the Masterton trophy today. I don't have a problem with that considering everything he's been through in his career but I think Kesler easily deserves the award outright. Regardless of how you feel about how he performed, grinding through 60 games and playing those insane Carlyle matchup minutes in his awful condition was an incredible feat for Kesler. If setting a goal of 1000 games and doing everything in his power to reach it in spite of his increasingly broken body doesn't embody "perseverance, sportsmanship & dedication to hockey", nothing else will.
  24. I'm starting to think a potential Dallas-Nashville first round series wouldn't be the worst thing ever. Actually never mind, it would be the worst thing ever and it might take the sport a few years to fully recover from that total disease on ice BUT at least one of them will knee, flop, and elbow their way out to an early exit. Nothing wrong with that.
  25. Bumping this thread to say I'm 100% behind a Carolina-Washington first round series. I'm getting giddy thinking of the reactions to whatever dumb celebration they'll come up with when they win their first playoff game in a decade. They don't have much of a chance against Tampa but I honestly think they can upset Washington and take the whole series. Who needs a formal handshake line when you can dunk on a prop basketball net?
