  1. I hear the stories from St. Louis that Tarasenko is available. Is he still good or not anymore? The guy was a scoring machine a few yearts ago.
  2. I see our Ducks fans are bored.....really bored....Hellooooo, is anybody alive in the office?
  3. Makes Fowler look like underpaid. Poor Fowler.
  4. why are we still discussing this topic? This Eichel guy is a talented player but not a person who makes people comfortable around him. He clashed with his coach, GM, organization, does not trust team doctors, fired his agent, and refused to take care of his injured neck during 5 months off-season time. Now I hear the stories that if he does his "artificial" disc replacement surgery, he may miss most of next season and there is a risk he may not be the same player anymore. And yet some people on this forum write 20 paragraphs essay thinking that we need to trade most of our farm system in exchange for this guy and his $10 mil salary? Sorry, but I don't want this potential cancer on my team.
  5. Agree. Nope, Too much for a messed -up-necked player with an attitude.
  6. So, the guy had 5 months off and didn't even bother to have a surgery to fix his neck. And whoever obtains Eichel, have to place him on IR for 3 or 4 months until he recovers. And even when he's ready to go, is he going to be the same player? As much as I am skeptical about BM, I have to give him a credit for not going after this player.
  7. 2 goals in 19 games last season. He injury is more serious the most people think. The offseason is almost over and didn't even do a surgery. Let him stay in Buffalo.
  8. Let me enter my 2cents. Both Lindholm and Mason are good players, but none of them are cornerstone of this organization. If I was GM, I would try to negotiate 4-5 years deal with fair pay rate. None of them deserves 8 years, since it's clear that the last 2-3 years of the contracts will be a heavy luggage on this team. My educated guess, 5 years at $7 to $7.5 mil per season would be fair, and if they want more, let them try free agency and see what they really worth. As someone already mentioned here before, what's the point to spend tons of money on the same players who can't lead this team to the playoffs?
  9. Are you his friend? If not, prove your point, please.
  10. Considering their poor performance last season, I think these contracts are fair for both of them.
  11. I would have to give Eric a credit: he is the ONLY Ducks beat writer who challenge BM competence. All others, especially from OC Register, are just statisticians.
  12. They need to sell some tickets somehow. I remember the hype about Emerson Etem, Sam Steel, Troy Terry. Before that Cam Fowler was proclaimed as our next Scott Niedermayer and Nick Ritchie was compared to Own Nolan. Yonas Hiller once was called by Hazy the top goaltender in the league and Vitaly Vishnevsky (old enough to remember him as well) was called by radio broadcaster Steve Carroll as our future franchise defenseman. Too bad I can't find links from older OC Register articles or TV/Broadcast sources to attach to this thread. I see the current hype the Ducks management creates about Drysdale and Zegras. I cross my fingers and hope they'll be the difference makers. It may or may not happen. I am old enough to remember 19 y/o Paul Kariya in 1994, this guy was flying and showed from the GetGo he'll be a star player our Ducks needed so badly. I don't see it in ANY our recent 1st round picks, but I want to be wrong.
  13. Sam Steel and Troy Terry will be our leaders. They'll take our Ducks to the second round of playoffs.
  14. Drafting from within will never get you a Cup. Bob done a significant job - he signed UFA Ryan Getzlaf. It's time for him to take some time off and go to Hawaii.
  15. Only once in the Ducks history we had a GM who was going for the BEST available players - Brian Burke. I bet we would never win Stanley Cup in 2007 without Chris Pronger. I can only imagine if BM was a general manager back then: "No, I can't sacrifice Joffrey Lupul and 2 first round picks, the price is too high". Agree, in the last 15 years we drafted several decent players in the first round, but NONE of them had an IMPACT on this team. Zegras and Drysdale are good prospects who may or may not make a difference for the Ducks. Having said this, I am still against Eichel trade: neck injury, his refusal to do surgery, bad last season, personality issues, a history of clashes with the management and a huge $10 mil salary.
  16. Only if they take some salary back - Cam Fowler or Gibson.
  17. A day before Getzlaf's contract Elliott Teaford from OC Register suggested that $1.5 mil /1 year contract would be a fair deal.
  18. Bob's contract is guaranteed till next summer, after this he will retire. No 'hot seat" for him. Madden or Nonis will not be good replacements, it has to be someone knowledgeable outside of organization.
  19. According to NHL sources, teams are not interested in Gibson
  20. I am perfectly fine with Bobby not doing much today. Since most of his recent trades or free agent signings brought nothing but disappointment, it's better do nothing to make a job easier for next GM.
  21. I think Hollywood team overpaid for a role player. $33 mil for Phillip Danault - it's crazy. But why would we care?
  22. if I was Gibson or Fowler, I would ask for a trade.
  23. Yes. Sam Steel. He'll carry the Ducks to the second round of playoffs.
  24. As I said before, since I have ZERO confidence in our manager, I am, perfectly ok with him doing nothing. The more he stays still, the easier will be a job for his successor.
