  1. Perreault needs to stop putting himself in position to take bad hits
  2. Oh dear lord. Hope it’s not serious
  3. Yeah, it should be streamed through the Ducks website. Gonna miss it but hopefully it's more of the same result as Friday's game.
  4. David better watch out. Sasha is going to be the new Pasta!
  5. I see what you are saying. He's been breaking up plays really well so far.
  6. Hunter Drew with a little toe-drag snipe
  7. This might be the most hopeful I am all season! Pasta, Sweet baby Zegras and the McMan all with goals in the first period. Zellweger skating showed and waiting on Tracey to show me anything,
  8. Any rumblings about Tracey? Don’t know if he’s skating yet due to an injury but he’s one of the players that I really want to see how he does this season.
  9. Could be a Weekend at Bernie’s situation going on then
  10. Ducks signed Tobias Reider to a PTO, so at least we know that Murray has not completely vanished into the Upside Down
  11. I'd feel the same way if I were Eichel coming to Anaheim lol. Agree with d-law that the trade makes no sense for Buffalo unless they are going to flip Gibson for more futures for their rebuild. Also, this doesn't make sense for the Ducks if the point is to make a push for playoffs sooner rather than later. They are still going to be heavily dependent on goaltending to do that and there is no replacement or stop gap if Gibson is gone. Gibson has a 10 team no-trade list also and I don't think it would be a shock if Buffalo was on it.
  12. If Ristolainen didn't bring back the 14 OA, 2nd and a depth defender then I'd agree. If he's worth that then Manson is worth at least a first, IMO. Murray's bromance for Manson might have him overvaluing him. With Arizona, they brought in a new GM in Armstrong who is changing course and building the team he wants. Arizona wasn't going to compete for a Cup whether they kept Garland, Dvorak or not. Garland was due a significant raise and they shed OEL's contract, so I can see why Arizona is going scorched earth in shedding salary and loading up assets in a deep draft. At least they have a clear direction and logic for what they are doing. As far as Fowler, I would want to keep him but not both him and Lindholm. If you can move Fowler and re-sign Lindholm, then I am fine with that. The Penguins will say that they are financially distressed in 2023 and they'll land Bedard, just like they did Lemieux and Crosby. Maybe if the Samuelis plead poverty then then Gary will but some loaded ping pong balls in our favor! I'm more surprised that the Red Wings haven't won a draft lottery or had a top-3 pick given their recent history.
  13. We desperately need a generational player!! The NHL has given us jack else lol
  14. I was counting Manson in that category also since I think that he gets you a first if nothing else, which I would take for him at this point. The speed at which Arizona has started their rebuild is what surprises me. This is a team that was obviously much better than the Ducks also. It's almost as if their new GM understands that he'll have a middling to mediocre team for the foreseeable future and it's better to start the rebuild process now. What a concept, eh GMBM?? Then again, the Samuelis bear the blame for this now, imo. They continue to let Murray play with matches as the team burns.
  15. If only we had four pending UFAs that we could use to get additional first rounders!
  16. Yeah. When Arizona and Buffalo have off seasons that make more sense than yours, it should be a humbling experience.
  17. I only keep refreshing Twitter to hopefully not see that lol.
  18. Almost as much as he loves bad asset management and smelling his own farts.
  19. With a handle of prison grade pruno and a lobotomy kit.
  20. Yeah, that’s the rub. Would another team sign off on a surgery that Buffalo is refusing to and take that risk on? I’m not sure why they would while paying the hefty price to acquire him. That’s why I don’t think a trade is happening until his injury situation is figured out. Imo, the Ducks are easily a bottom-3 roster and that’s only because Arizona and Buffalo are actively tanking this season. I’m surprised that Seattle is viewed favorably after they made it a point not to assemble as good of a roster as possible. Right now, I’d say the Ducks are a bottom-5 team and expect them to have a modest improvement from last season assuming they remain mostly healthy. How much the Ducks improve are dependent on how much Zegras and Drysdale contribute (Zegras putting up 40 points would pretty good imo.) Rakell and Comtois picking up their scoring and of course, how good Gibson is. I expect them to be bad but not be as much of a tire fire as last year.
  21. IMO, I forgot where I heard it but there could also be insurance implications on Eichel’s contract that don’t cover the disk replacement. If so, and the surgery doesn’t work as planned then the Sabres could really in trouble since Eichel’s trade value will plummet more, plus his contract possibly not being insured. From Buffalo’s perspective, I can understand them holding firm to the surgery that they want under those circumstances, especially if they haven’t gotten an offer good enough for them to make a trade. It’s hard to blame them for not wanting their star player to have a surgery never performed on an NHL player. They can drag this well into the season if they want since they are in full rebuild mode anyway. I have no idea how this impasse gets resolved. Is another team going to trade for Eichel and then approve the surgery that Buffalo isn’t willing to? After giving up significant assets in the process as well. I’d think that teams want Buffalo to assume that risk and then trade for Eichel being once they see how he recovers.
  22. I still think drafting Jacob Larsson eight spots ahead of Aho was clearly the better move! Hope that Raty doesn't become the next Aho for the Islanders.
  23. Haha. Nope. Still firmly off the bandwagon!
  24. It's just funny that a) both are Finnish players and b) Carolina is offer sheeting Kotkaniemi who is nowhere close to the stud that Aho is. At least Montreal went after a really good player.
  25. That makes more sense and at least we are in agreement that next season is going to be bad lol. 2022-2023 is when things might begin to turnaround but as far as competing for the playoffs but a lot of things need to go right and happen: Zegras and Drysdale are legit NHLers and contributors (most important), John Gibson still wants to play on this team and plays very well; we add another top-4 defensemen (possibly two if we both Manson and Lindholm are gone), bring in at least two top-6 scoring wingers to play along side Eichel/Zegras. If Zegras and Drysdale aren't very good by 2022 then the Ducks are still going to struggling even with Eichel, imo. I don't think we can bank on that right now and this upcoming season is purely a developmental one for Zegras/Drysdale. If I were a betting man, I think that 2023-2024 would be more realistic for the Ducks competing for a playoff spot. Manson bringing back a second rounder at the deadline sounds about right and would be a masterclass showing of Murray's incompetence in asset management.
