The 90S - What A Decade For Goalies...

Recommended Posts

This Patrick Roy thing just really got me to thinking just how incredible of a decade the 90s were for goalies...growing up with that is probably why I am a goalie.

From the top 15 goalies in wins of ALL TIME, these players played AT THE SAME TIME in the 90s:

Martin Brodeur

Patrick Roy

Ed Belfour

Curtis Joseph

Grant Fuhr

Chris Osgood

Dominik Hasek

Mike Vernon

John Vanbiesbrouck

Andy Moog

Tom Barrasso

11 of the top 15 of all time in wins...played in the 90s. What happened? Goalies just don't seem to be the same any more...Luongo is PROBABLY gonna make it to the top 15 - And maybe Nabokov...but I just can't think of a goalie who deserves to be in that same company...someone who dominants in regular season and playoffs consistently like most of these did.

Probably judging too soon anyway - but thanks for reading my rant :P
