Jones has the Corey Perry pestness about him. Whether or not the skill, we will see. He's a good forechecker at the very least.

Initial reaction right now for me: ehh.

Traded Maroon to draft Maroon? Kay.

I feel his skill is underrated personally. His stock has climbed a lot this year.

Havin said that ours scouts haven't exactly given us much confidence with their track record of drafting forwards.

I also appreciate that Anaheim didn't bring up the entire organization to make the pick.

Maybe they felt Jones was the safest bet with the early pick, and plan to roll the dice on a more pure skill guy with the #30 ???

I can get on board with this. I have a really good player comparison for him...that the board might not like.

Way faster and less hairier than Maroon. So he's got that going for him.

He's wearing #16.

Later Butts.

...don't correct me. Let me dream.

Butts grew on me.  Played well and kept it clean.

Max Jones was ranked #13 by Hockey News (for what it's worth).

Nice call boys, Jones is a great pick, BPA more or less.

He and Ritchie are going to be right up Carlyle's alley.

Will Carlyle still be around when both actually make it to the NHL?

This kid is a much better skater.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if they took either the top NA rated goalie in Hart or top Euro goalie in Gustavsson. All that famed goaltender depth is gone now and needs to be refilled.

Wait...wait wait wait wait...there was a 6'5 LW who scored 47 goals in 25 games available and we didn't take it!?

We can take it. My player comparison for Ritchie was the kid from the goonies.

Who knows, and I doubt that carried a ton of weight in the decision, but nobody within the team is going to think pessimistically like that.

Works for me... isn't their a tall defenseman we were projected to pick... or are they off the board?

Oh, haha, well...that's good to know lol it will definitely be interesting to see how Tufte and Jones end up. Similar to...ugh it's killing me...I think it was when Dallas picked a goalie when someone like REALLY good was available? Didn't something like that happen in the past few years?

I don't think junior goal numbers are always a definitive metric.

yeah i agree, but still if you score almost 2 goals per game avg,its still something, right?
