hopefully that translates to better defensive play. That's really the only thing holding him back from being an NHL defensemen this year. Tough lineup to crack tho.

With such stalwarts as Stoner and Bieksa, how's a guy to get a break?

I really liked his upbeat and positive attitude, what a gem we have, really.

“Seeing Shea play in the NHL, and him being a good friend and teammate, getting the insight when he came back, it was good to have him there in San Diego,” Montour says. “It was great to see him do well in Anaheim.”

If only he didn't have Vats, lindholm, Manson, fowler, Despres and Theodore ahead of him.

Dammit. Avs always headhunting our guys. And Nic can't catch a break. :(

We owe the Avs so much damn payback that it almost makes me glad to have Carlyle's brand of hockey back... almost.

Kerdiles is a frustrating one, right there along with Noesen and Sorensen on the bad luck bandwagon.

Eureka! Let's kill them with Stoner! It worked for a Canadian bear it will work for a team of Colorado lumberjacks, right?

And yay! A solid use for a Stoner!

INJURY UPDATE: Nic Kerdiles (concussion-like symptoms) is under evaluation and will not practice until he is symptom free.

So sad that our rookies just can't seem to catch a break. Noesen had lengthy injury issues as well, and we'd use him as a plug RW in the mold of DSP. Looks like anyone who's healthy, goes and gets promoted for the lack of choice.

Cannot wait to hear Craig Elsten on the radio calls from 200+ miles away once more.

Gulls 1-nil up on a PP goal by Noesen. Good energy from the fourth line, Welinski is driving play at ES and on the PP.

Getting really irritated at the officials. Lots of calls not made. Reign gonna goon. Go frigging figure.

Gulls leading Roadrunners at home 3-1 just before the end of the second at home. Lots of good work by the youngsters-Welinski, Sgarbossa, Kossila, Teddy and Montour. So good to hear the call by Elsten, lots of enthusiasm when the Gulls do Dehydrated Donkey Dung right. McPherson does good color commentary to compliment.

Gulls are looking good! Should be more fun to watch than the big club this season.

Laganier may be earning himself a late-bloomer, 4th liner NHL deal at some point, he seems to be putting it together somewhat.

I had that feeling when I saw the depth on the farm team. The big club will be a hot mess until both RFA signings are resolved, Gibby settles the eff down in the cage, and someone does the dirty deeds (even if done dirt cheap) to make room for the once and future blueliners.

Gotta get to San Diego at least once this season, listening to the AM calls is exciting, but I have the feeling that in person, it'll be that much more intense-and fun.

Bye Bye Larsson. http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2016/11/03/after-making-nhl-debut-ducks-larsson-returned-to-swedish-league/

Probably won't see him again until next season.

He did good, but this give a chance to guys like Montour and Theo, Larsson can spend a year in Sweden and return, we have more pressing matters, it seems.
