Derek Grant

1 way contract. I actually think this guy is going to get a shoot at 4th line center.

Never heard of him, but Sabres friends, tell me he's a a bit of a defensive specialist who's good on the dot. He's big too.

probably a cheaper replacement for nate thompson,  who will

be missed.  however nate was getting older,  more expensive,

and injury prone.

If I'm reading his stats correctly, he's never scored a goal in the NHL despite starting in Ottawa 13-14 and playing for 4 teams!

Who?

More importantly, WHY???

Ok, seriously, nobody gets to say we can't afford to be a cap team this season if BM is ok paying NHL salaries to his AHL players. Wagner, Shaw, Boll and now Grant all on one-way deals. Now watch every one of those guys (except friggen Boll, of course) get beaten out for a roster spot by someone on an ELC... <_<

Not sure why Crammer hasn't been signed. BM voiced regret when he was picked up off waivers. Now he's available and he signs a group of throw aways from other teams.

It may be on Crammer's end. He took it personally when he was sent down. Read a quote where his main goal from then on was to beat the ducks.

So like liquid said, Nate Thompson replacement sounds about right.

Ducks gave him his chance, so if he's still got hard feelings that's pretty well on him.

Wouldn't mind having him back, though.

I haven't personally read anything that he said negatively toward the Ducks. If there is a quote, I would like to see it.  From his twitter @cramberry92

"Thank you @AnaheimDucks for everything over the past 6 years and giving me a chance to play in the NHL. It's been a season I'll never forget

Thanks to the fans, coaches, management and most importantly my teammates for making my first year in the NHL a memorable one"

It was a quote from Vancouver's website when they claimed him. Let me see if I can find it.

I didn't remember the quote right. He said he wanted to make the Ducks regret putting him on waivers.

Doesn't matter, it wasn't on a news site, so ritz won't believe it.

I liked the article, though, it's funny. There are jabs at the Ducks, but they are just that: jabs. If you like your players and care for them - good for you, just don't go full ballistic.
