#1 Draft Pick!

Regardless of what we think, it's going to be what it's going to be.  That kid Hughes looks pretty small to me.  He was shorter than everyone who interviewed him.  I know height doesn't make a player but how will he fare against Giordano's knee?  You have to ask that question...

I like that the ducks tried really hard at the end of the season - I think that was the right move.  Picking the right player is key.  #9 is the highest energy number on the board so that is a good sign...

Go Ducks.

Jack was being interviewed?
Huh, that must have been who Kathryn was talking to. I couldn't see anything else on the screen TBH.

6'0 - 168 lbs. C/W

Trevor Zegras is an elite two-way forward that can play both wing and center. His pro-level mobility is the foundation of his game, supplementing an in-transition speed that shifts the pace of play. He knows how to get under the skin of opponents and will actively seek out opportunities to lay the body and create separation, all the while staying attentive to the unfolding play. This unique aspect of his game makes him difficult and frustrating to play against. His ability to finish and create plays is undoubtedly the hallmark of his game, as he is one of the major dynamos of his draft class. He is a dangerous scoring threat anywhere below the blue line and his vision matched with his net-drive propels him into positions that create high percentage opportunities. Defensively astute and proactive, he sees the lanes that his opponents do and will do his best to force the puck along the wall where he is at his best. All-in-all, Zegras is one of those special buzzsaw-type players that can excel in key roles and perform under pressure. (Curtis Joe, EP 2019)

Ducks boned themselves by winning all of a sudden when they were HIGHLY unlikely  to get into the PO.... meaningless games.

No POs and just a 9th pick on a very frustrating year.

The "kids" played a lot of those games and did the scoring so I'm good with it. They got great NHL experience and gained some confidence.

Get rid of the lottery draft and hold a draft selection tourney for the non-playoff teams during the course of the playoffs.

Watch....Hughes decides to enroll in college now. Only way for him to get out of New Jersey.

Makes you think if he "really" wanted to go to those 2 Cities. I suspect he has prefer team in mind.

This thing was obviously rigged and that’s pretty lame. Seeing the Kings fans in meltdown mode on Twitter is pretty great though.

Alright Let's move on to the Draft and look at the Ducks Needs...As of now if Ducks need to draft at 9th Overall a Center or a Right Handed D-man.

Yeah. They are still drafting in the top-5 though, which is bare minimum of where we should have been. The season is over and things are still getting worse

I'd love to have Trevor Zegras. Three problems: 1) he probably won't make it to 9th, 2) he's committed to Boston University, and 3) Victor Soderstrom and Philip Broberg, two Swedish defensemen, will likely still be on the board at 9th. In fact, Draft Site has the Ducks picking Soderstrom.

Meaningless goals in meaningless games.  Not only are they now picking 9th, their selection in the subsequent rounds are lower than they should have been.  This was not the 8th or 9th worst team in the league. They were worse than that.

Losing wouldn't guarantee a better pick. See L.A. Kings.

The Ducks drew the ninth overall draft pick tonight at the 2019 NHL Draft Lottery in Toronto. The results of the Draft Lottery were revealed live by NBCSN during a one-hour show this evening.

The 2019 NHL Draft will take place in Vancouver from June 21-22 at Rogers Arena. The first round will be held on Friday, June 21 and be followed by Rounds 2-7 on Saturday, June 22. Anaheim owns two picks in the first round (the additional selection comes from San Jose or St. Louis). The Ducks currently own three of the top 39 picks at the 2019 draft.
